On The Scent Podcast
Been Trying to Meet You - “ It’s warm, it’s so comforting. It’s like lying down in the sun on a hot summers day in the middle of the meadow… It takes you to a daydream when you wear it. Beautiful. “
Sain No More - “It is properly resinous, sticky burnt and amber, but it doesn't smell too heavy because of the aldehydes… Beautifully balanced. It’s born aloft… It's a small contained fire that you are holding and you are cleansing the space with. “
Hides - “ You get the verdancy, snapped stalks… It’s beautiful, and there’s almost a vintage smell. It smells like you’re safe but there’s danger in the distance…. so interesting! “
“ I was completely blown away by how much I liked every single one of these three fragrances… They are so interesting yet wearable. “
“ I just think they’re fascinating… Really impressed. Want to smell more.“
“ I love this marrying together of these two artistic mediums “

“ Opening with verdant hedgerows full of tiny fragrant flowers, BTTMY is every glorious walk you’ve ever taken on a summer’s evening. A scene of bucolic beauty, a landscape of golden wheat fields rippling and stretching out into the distance. The delicate scent of elderflowers. Long shadows. Hay bales stacked high by farmers and left to ferment. The sweet smell of grass meadows, wildflowers perfuming the breeze, a gentle rustling and the lingering warmth of the day’s amber sunshine as dragonflies and fireflies flit and dance in the fading light. “
“ This is perfume as a painting, as art. Transportive yet functional. It’s a joy to wear and be taken so immediately inside this picture. That Jacob - a former flavourist and self-taught perfumer since 2020 - created his first three scents in only two years is unbelievable. I enjoyed all three, but this one, for the scene it depicts, is really a cut above and deserving of my highest praises. “

Hides - "Owing to ... both an animalic opening and a musk-y afterburn ... the scent has got that bold, sexy Eighties vibe that makes you feel like Julian Kaye repping an Armani suit in American Gigolo. However, the addition of lighter woods with raspberry, mango leaf, violet leaf (this powderiness really hits on the dry down) and osmanthus gives this a cool-y fruity, green quality, making it feel far more contemporary – and wearable – than those ballsy, shoulder-padded vintages musks."

“ It was a real treat to receive these three samples from Nosu… they were a surprise and a delight.
Standout of the three fragrances for me is Sain No More … It's smoked green, slightly earthy but with bright resonance, beautifully blended with the feel of a very atmospheric walk through forests and moorland. Would appeal to those who like a touch of nature in their day. Been Trying To Meet You is similarly nature-tinged, with notes of sunshine and hay, dried grasses and beeswax. It's a very competent first collection from this new North London brand. Worth trying. “

“ Hides is the kind of fragrance that feels both primal and sophisticated, an olfactory journey into nature’s untamed wilderness… It’s a beast of a fragrance, unapologetically bold, and a true masterpiece of green and animalic notes. “
